Meet Angee
Founder of Sky River Meadows | Program Director at Woodfield Family Camp
Angee Pell is the founder of Sky River Meadows, a year-round therapeutic animal farm nestled in the forests of Muskoka, Ontario, on the grounds of Woodfield Family Camp. From June through September, she also serves as Program Director at Woodfield, where she designs and leads nature- and animal-based experiences that inspire mindfulness, emotional connection, and healing for families of all ages.
Angee’s bond with animals began in childhood on a small rural farm in Southern Ontario, where her closest companions were often animals rather than people. After more than 30 years working in animal rescue and rehabilitation, she felt called to explore a new path: What would it be like to work with animals who had only ever known trust and love? That question sparked the creation of Sky River Meadows.
In 2011, Angee welcomed her first goats—three females and one male—carefully chosen to form the foundation of a therapeutic herd raised on compassion, gentleness, and mutual respect. Today, the original herd has grown into a six-generation lineage of over 50 Nigerian Dwarf goats. Every goat is hand-raised from birth, fostering heart-centered relationships that allow for a safe, non-intimidating space for guests to reconnect with themselves through animal-guided experiences.
Sky River Meadows is a true family business—not just in the herd, but in the human family as well. Angee shares this life and work with her adult son and young grandson, forming three generations of humans working together in harmony with the herd. Each day, the animals are lovingly and attentively cared for by her family, who all play active roles in creating a nurturing, healing environment for guests.
Angee’s approach to life and healing is grounded in spiritual practice. She lives guided by her heart, not her head—tuning into the body’s inner wisdom and allowing intuition to lead. Influenced by the teachings of Don Miguel Ruiz's The Four Agreements and Karla McLaren's The Language of Emotions, she works in deep alignment with emotional intelligence, presence, and self-awareness. Since 2019, she has also been a student of shamanic practice at Horse Medicine Lodge, weaving the grounded, Earth-centered teachings of those studies into her daily life and the sacred work she shares with others.
Angee supports a wide range of individuals through both private and agency partnerships. She works one-on-one, with families, and in group settings to guide self-discovery, emotional regulation, and personal growth. She collaborates closely with several regional organizations including Community Living South Muskoka, Community Living Parry Sound, the District of Muskoka, the Town of Huntsville, and Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services.
She holds a B.A. (Hons) in Child and Family Studies from Nipissing University and is a certified and Advanced FEEL (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning) practitioner. While FEEL is traditionally practiced with horses, Angee has uniquely adapted the method to her goat herd, allowing her to bring healing experiences to schools, retirement homes, and other spaces where horses can’t easily go.
Through Sky River Meadows and her seasonal work at Woodfield, Angee offers a range of powerful experiences—from goat walks and soundbowl healing sessions to intuitive drumming journeys, forest ceremonies, and nature-based coaching—each thoughtfully designed to invite reflection, connection, and deep emotional healing.
Whether she’s guiding a gratitude circle, holding sacred space in the forest, or simply walking alongside her goats and guests, Angee’s mission is the same: to create safe, soul-nourishing spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, and rediscover their inner wisdom—through the gentle, grounded presence of animals and family.
