Gandalf is one of our primary working therapy goats, who is currently “on leave” for health reasons.  Gandalf follows in the footsteps of his Great, Great Grandmother Maisie, and sometimes works with his little sister Yara.  Gandalf started working with people at an unusually young age just a couple of months old.  He has always been drawn to people, especially those who are hurting.  Gandalf has worked in the community since he was 6 months old when he did his first hospice visit.  Gandalf seems to be very “in tune” with groups and knows instinctively who to share time with.  Gandalf loves children and is particularly gifted with non-verbal individuals that we support.  At the start of 2023, Gandalf became ill from a parasite which was challenging for him to recover from.  Since that time, Gandalf has persisted in having health challenges, which currently impede his ability to work in our programs.  A recent bad tooth is finally healing so we hope to see him back in action again soon!
